It's Monday! What are you reading? was started by Sheila at Book Journey and was adapted for children's books from picture books through YA by Jen of Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee of Unleashing Readers. TBR
I got back Sunday afternoon from this year's NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) Conference. So many wonderful ideas and inspiration to take it - I hope to get a post up shortly with some initial thoughts.
The photos above are the newest editions to my TBR pile, courtesy of the conference. I hope to get several read and blogged about in time for next week. Until then, happy reading!
Nice pile of TBRs. I recognize a few favorites and some new to me books. And thanks for reminding me about the new format for Kid Lit Blog Hop. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex! We're hoping with the monthly KidLitBlogHop to give people a great chance to share and invest in the community.
DeleteFor me, all those lovely additions to the TBR stack are negatives about attending conferences. I have no will power and explode my TBR stack every time. They look like a bunch of good ones though. Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, thanks Kathy! Luckily we had driven to the conference, so I wasn't one of the many teachers waiting in line at the UPS store to ship boxes of books!
DeleteI had hoped to pick up Funny Bones but somehow never got to the publisher. I do love Tonatiuh's work. Really interesting and innovative art. Did you get a chance to hear Cynthia Lord speak? She's always so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI caught the end of Cynthia's presentation with Alyson and Linda Mullaly Hunt. Had a great session with Duncan Tonatiuh all about his work and inspiration. Haven't sat down with Funny Bones but am looking forward to it!
DeleteWow, always great to go to NCTE and stock up on new books. Glad it was a good time.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! It was incredible to connect with so many great authors and books.
DeleteWow, look at that NCTE stack - amazing! Hope you had a lovely time at the conference! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Myra! I did have a great time - so overwhelmed with new books and new ideas!
DeleteDon't you just love the smell of all those new books? I'm familiar with a few of them, but there are mostly new to me ones too. Happy reading this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cheriee. Yes, I do love the new book smell! My students are having a blast with these new additions as well.
DeleteI see some amazing titles in your pile - like Winter Bees and A Handful of Stars. Happy reading! Love the links to your NCTE presentation.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie. I'm glad you followed up on the presentation links - I hope people find them useful! Already love Winter Bees and hoping to dive in to A Handful of Stars too!
DeleteAny books about mustaches taking over have to be great!
ReplyDelete.. and when the author signed them with a moustache pun - so much the better!
