Top 5 Most-Read Posts of 2016

#5 Spotlight on Diverse Book Awards

This post is the first in series exploring diverse book awards. This post provides an overview of all of the awards pictured, as well as links to their web sites and book lists. A powerful resource for finding incredible diverse books! (Later posts shared about the Américas Award, the Stonewall Book Awards, the South Asia Book Award, with more to follow.)

#4 How to Find High Quality Diverse Literature for Children

This post accompanied the early launch of the Diverse Children's Books linkup, as I wanted to share some strategies for finding and evaluating books for children.

#3 Poetry Friday Hosting: Novels in Verse

I love hosting the Poetry Friday roundup, and I always try to do a more elaborate post when hosting. This year's post provides an overview to a wide-range of middle grade novels in verse.

#2 Nonfiction Picture Book 10 for 10 #nf10for10

Another perennial favorite is coming up with my top 10 lists for both #pb10for10 (picture book 10 for 10) and #nf10for10 (nonfiction picture book 10 for 10). This year's nonfiction entries were chosen around the theme of biographies of diverse artists (doing diverse art).

#1 Picture Book 10 for 10 #pb10for10

My #pb10for10 shared my Top 10 picture books for middle school. (Since publishing this post, I've gone on to share more than half of these books with my seventh graders already, and we have had some fascinating and amazing discussions around them.)

Do you have a favorite posts from The Logonauts from the past year? I don't like to pick favorites, myself, but I will say that I was probably most excited about writing my first-ever post for The Nerdy Book Club: Broadening and Deepening Your Reading Life. Enjoy!
