#3rdfor3rd: Zita the Spacegirl

Welcome to #3rdfor3rd where I share books that my third graders recommend for other third graders. (Please note that my third graders read a wide variety of books across a wide variety of genres, levels, and topics. Do not think that these books are "only" for third graders.) Read more about this book recommendation series and format here.

Zita the Spacegirl

Book recommendation by Lily.

Zita the Spacegirl tells the story of Zita, who presses a button that transports herself and her friend, Joseph, onto another planet that is about to explode in three days. With the help of friends, Zita will save her brother. But can she?

I like this book because there are funny robots, like Randy and One, silly creatures like Strong-Strong, and interesting and magical humans.

I like when the little blue men smack and thwack One with twigs.

If you like space, robots and adventure stories you will love this book.

I rate this book 5 stars, and I also recommend you read the two other books: Legends of Zita the Spacegirl and The Return of Zita the Spacegirl.

(Note from me: I purchased the entire Zita series last fall after Lily published her recommendation, and they were constantly checked out from our classroom library. Every time they were returned, they immediately vanished again into eager hands!)
