Book Recommendation: Land of Forgotten Girls #iLoveMG

Welcome to #iLoveMG where I share middle grade books that my fifth graders recommend. (Please note that my fifth graders read a wide variety of books across a wide variety of genres, levels, and topics. Do not think that these books are "only" for fifth graders.) Or check out #3rdfor3rd for recommendations from when I taught third grade.

Land of Forgotten Girls

Recommended by McKenna

I think that people should read Land of Forgotten Girls by Erin Entrada Kelly and it's mostly realistic fiction. This book is about two girls who's parents died (I think both of them but I know for sure that the mom died) and their stepmother is mean. She tortures them and takes away their stuff. The oldest sister plays pranks on her for what she's done.

This is a great book because it gives people a like fantasy but it could happen vibe. I would recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction with a little fantasy in it and people who are also kind of on the run. I'd give this book a really good rating because it is just AMAZINGGG!
