#3rdfor3rd: Harry Potter - triple review

Welcome to #3rdfor3rd where I share books that my third graders recommend for other third graders. (Please note that my third graders read a wide variety of books across a wide variety of genres, levels, and topics. Do not think that these books are "only" for third graders.) Read more about this book recommendation series and format here.

Harry Potter series

The Harry Potter series remains a popular one, and I had three students choose to write recommendations for three different books in the series.

Book recommendation by Nick.

The title of this book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and the author is JK Rowling. This is a scary book but most of the characters are weird. This is an awesome book.

I like this book because of the magic and it's very creative. Harry is a famous guy. I also want to be famous some day. If you like magic read this book. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Book recommendation by Lauryn.

I've read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling. I recommend this book because it is my favorite book in the series of Harry Potter. I like this book most because I think it has more mystery then the others.

Summary: ever since Harry came back for the summer the Dursleys had been so mean to Harry. They just made Harry want to go back to Hogwarts even more.

My favorite part of the book was when Nearly Headless Nick had his death day party when he celebrated the day he died.

I love this book so I recommend this book to someone who likes mystery stories. I rate this book 5 on 5 stars.

Book recommendation by Justin.

The book I am choosing is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is about a boy named Harry Potter and he has to live with his horrible aunt and uncle and their abominable son Dudley. His friends Ron and Hermione take him back to Hogwarts, where challenges and surprises are happening. There's lots of creativity, it is funny, and very surprising at some moments. If you like magic, wizards and witches, you will love this book. This is a very good book and I would rate it 5 out of 5.

  1. The first three are awesome for third graders! My favorite from the Harry Potter series is Prisoner of Azkaban as there is such hope for Harry to have a magical family. It is also the only one in the series where Voldemort is not actively involved.

    Happy reading!
